Offshore
Engineering

Since 2004 SIP has been
continuously involved in offshore projects mainly
related to FPSO and topsides
The very first project was
related to the debottlenecking of an existing large FPSO
(Girassol FPSO operated by TOTAL offshore Angola in deep
water). The capacity of this FPSO has to be increased
from the initial value of 200,000 bpd up to 280,000 bpd.
This was achieved by the addition of 7 modules which
have to be installed in the existing topsides. SIP was
in charge of the detailed engineering of these modules.
The second project has been the Golfinho II leased FPSO
awarded to the Saipem Group by Petrobras. SIP has been
in charge of the basic and detailed engineering of the
most sophisticated modules of this project: the
compression modules (2) and the power generation module.
SIP has been successful in delivering almost on time all
the engineering documents for this fast track project
(less than 10 months).
Thanks to these projects,
SIP has developed multi-disciplinary teams familiar with
these offshore projects and their specific constraints:
lay-out constraints, safety and handling, weight
control, interfaces with the fabrication yards and
schedule.
